One Month Post Release!

Hello lovelies!
I’ve been missing in action a little bit, haven’t I? Normally, I release these newsletters once a month. Following the release of Tide Bound, I gave myself a much needed break from writing & marketing. I took this chance to reconnect with some friends, fulfill my kickstarter orders and start planning the sequel.

Tide Bound and I took part in Stuff your Kindle – Fantasy Edition, which was a three day event from October 18-10th, where 400 indie novels were listed for free on Amazon. I revived over 2000 downloads, which was way more than I’d hoped for. I am hoping to join more events like this, which you can keep up to date with on my Instagram.
Indie authors rely on reviews. If you’ve read Tide Bound but haven’t had time to share yet, please do so. It helps a ton.

Tide Bound 2 & NaNoWriMo
At the moment, Tide Bound 2 is currently sitting at 35,000 words. This is a mix of outline word vomit and proper writing. I am unofficially taking part in NaNoWriMo, a writing challenge to complete 50,000 words within the month of November. This is a challenge I’ve taken part of almost every year, since 2012. Seeing how I wrote 110,000 words for Tide Bound in 45 days this year, NaNo is going to feel like a breeze. I’ve really locked into my outlining and writing processes in the past year and am confident moving forward. That being said… Before I get too far into the sequel, I want to hear what my readers want to see.

Feel free to respond to this email or hop over to my instagram if you see this within 24 hours, where I currently have a question box in my story. What do you want to see more of in Tide Bound 2? Now that the slow burn is over… there will 100% be more romance. Are we interested in smut? More angst? Which characters do you want to learn more about? Lore? Locations? Etc. Literally anything. As a small author, I primarily write my novels for myself, but my small, supportive audience means so so much to me and I want to make sure my sequel exceeds everyone’s expectations.

If you’re a writer/author who is also taking part in Nano, or want to make some new writing friends, I invite you to join my discord server, which I have linked below. We won’t be hosting any exact events, but there are normally a few people writing here at least once a day.
What’s Up Next
My personal deadline for finishing revisions was July 1st and this didn’t happen. Now, it’s been moved to July 12th but my editor has started on the first few chapters. I’d rather take my time and produce work I’m proud of than rush the process 3At this point, my novel has completed all beta reading & developmental edits. The rest of July is dedicated to line & copy edits. As long as everything runs smoothly, I will have a definitive release date within the next few weeks, which will deserve another email.
Kickstarter
For everyone who supported the Kickstarter, once again THANK YOU!

Half of the orders have been mailed (and I know a few have already arrived!) We have 14 packages left to mail out and the delay on those has been due to the sprayed edges. I’ve been taking my time, attempting a few different methods to ensure I send out the highest quality. The second delay has been an ankle injury, which has forced me to stay off my feet for a bit! My goal is to have the second batch mailed out on Monday, November 11th.
