Hello lovies! I feel like no time has passed since sending an email, yet I missed June’s update completely!! I’m pack in the pits of editing & revisions and I should be finishing them right now, since my deadline is Friday, but this email was easier 😉 Productive procrastination.

Progress Report

Last month, I learned it’s hard to give writing updates while working through revisions. I can’t tell you where I am in the story or what I’m doing, without spoiling the novel itself. What I can say is while the plot points of draft two have stayed the same, there has been a massive upheaval to the character dynamics. In the last round of beta reading, I dipped my toes into a new area of world building which was met with lots of excitement and I’ve established it further. (IYKYK)

What’s Up Next

My personal deadline for finishing revisions was July 1st and this didn’t happen. Now, it’s been moved to July 12th but my editor has started on the first few chapters. I’d rather take my time and produce work I’m proud of than rush the process <3At this point, my novel has completed all beta reading & developmental edits. The rest of July is dedicated to line & copy edits. As long as everything runs smoothly, I will have a definitive release date within the next few weeks, which will deserve another email.

Kickstarter

Outside of writing, I’m finalizing the pre-order and kickstarter information. For anyone who hasn’t used Kickstarter before, this program allows me to crowdsource prior to the novels release, in order to fund the initial costs of printing & mailing. This is the best option I have for supplying signed copies. Kickstarter is also known for offering several tiers, allowing you to help fund my novel regardless of your budget. I’m still ironing out the details, but it’ll vary between e-book only & full book boxes. Below is the current list of pre-order goodies included in various tiers.- Retro motel keychain “KEYS TO MY CASTLE’- Sea-shell shaped soap or candle- 2 art prints (couple art & group art above) – Stickers will be included for free with all signed editions!- A book box with all the above items & some mystery gifts Feel free to DM me if you have any ideas for items you’d like to see included! I wanted to include a candle which smells like the MMC, but it unfortunately wasn’t financially sustainable. This is an idea I don’t want to lose and might see come to fruition in the future!
